Anna Salton Eisen was an adult when she finally broke her parents’ silence about their Holocaust experiences. Pillar of Salt: A Daughter’s Life in the Shadow of the Holocaust recounts her initially secret effort to uncover the truth about her father’s past. This memoir completes the story told in The 23rd Psalm: A Holocaust Memoir, which Salton Eisen wrote with her father, George Salton, about his experiences. A new expanded edition of that book will be published in fall 2022.
